Harrah’s Rincon, in San Diego, Calif., has begun construction on a new 21-storey hotel tower and expanded meeting space as part of its $150-million expansion project which, when complete, will nearly double the property’s size.
Slated to be completed at the end of 2013, the meeting-space expansion will feature a new 23,000-sq.-ft. ballroom that will connect to an outdoor patio that could host events for meeting and incentive travel groups.
The new space will also feature an outdoor public space.
In addition, the expansion will include a luxury hotel tower with more than 400 rooms. Scheduled to open in spring, 2014, the new tower will increase the room and suite offering to 1,065.
The expansion will also double the poolside space to include more cabanas and a larger swim-up poolside bar, as well as a new indoor/outdoor Mexican restaurant and increased casino floor.
