World Trade and Convention Centre
Combining world-class facilities, comprehensive services and the natural hospitality for which Maritimers have long been known, the WTCC offers meeting planners a premier downtown venue for their next meeting or event.
Three floors of multi-purpose meeting and banquet space are available to suit the needs of any group. For additional space, the WTCC is fully integrated with the 10,000-seat Halifax Metro Centre, a full-service trade show, exposition, sporting-event and entertainment facility. Wireless Internet service, fibre-optic cable, videoconferencing and satellite-link capabilities are also available.
Connect to more than 1,000 four-diamond guestrooms and over 100,000 sq. ft. of meeting space via a climate-controlled pedway system known as the Downtown Halifax Link. Delegates can connect to downtown shopping, dining and entertainment options conveniently through the link, without stepping outside.
Halifax’s centralized precinct means delegates are a stone’s throw from unique offsite venues. Shuttle service is not required for many outdoor activities such as deep-sea fishing and whale watching, a mere 15-minute walk away.
For onsite dining options, the WTCC features a full-service restaurant, which offers spectacular harbour views. In addition, the convention centre’s highly trained in-house catering staff has the flexibility to create everything from boardroom breakfasts to large Maritime theme dinners. Specializing in “white glove” service for evening functions, the WTCC treats guests to a formal honour guard at the entrance to the dining area.
The professionalism, creativity and customer-focus of its staff make the WTCC a prime choice for high-profile events. This spectacular space has hosted such large-scale events as The World Microcredit Summit and the NDP national conference, among others.
It’s this reputation and acclaim that have fostered plans for a brand new convention facility that, if approved, is slated to open in January, 2015.
