Aer Lingus to Open Direct Toronto to Dublin Service in 2014

Aer Lingus, Ireland’s national airline, will open a new direct service route between Toronto and Dublin, beginning April 2014.

The new service, which will benefit both MICE and leisure markets, will operate daily during the peak summer season and up to four times a week in the winter months. In addition, Aer Lingus will provide connections from eight Canadian cities including Vancouver, Montreal and Calgary. Once in Dublin, flights will connect to more than 20 UK and European cities.

Christoph Mueller, chief executive, Aer Lingus, said of the new Toronto route: “Toronto is the sixth biggest North American market out of Ireland. In addition to being a great tourist destination, the city is home to a large Irish community and we look forward to welcoming them on board.”

I am so glad this is happening. The last time I flew from Canada (Ottawa to Dublin) was 1974. It was a lovely flight I had my baby with me and the Irish cabin crew were amazing.Aer Lingus has a very good reputation so again I am happy they are returning to Canadian runways.
