Air Canada is increasing international flights.
Through its continuing international expansion strategy, Air Canada will add, for this summer, 450,000 more seats than last summer to and from its Toronto hub, including new daily service to four major international destinations.
The airline’s schedule enhancements include increasing, to daily frequency, flights to Copenhagen, Madrid, Dublin and Santiago, Chile; doubling the number of flights to Barcelona to six a week; and adding a fourth weekly frequency to Athens, according to Ben Smith, executive vice-president and chief commercial officer, quoted in a release.
Moreover, the additional capacity will result in more service from points across Canada in all three of Air Canada’s major market segments. For instance, Gander, Nfld./Toronto service will increase to daily (beginning in June); London, England, service to Montreal will double, to twice daily (beginning May) and Paris-Montreal service will increase to double-daily (in June).
