The new BlackBerry Smartphone app allows users to manage all of their travel plans with easy real-time access from a single location with their mobile technology.

Users can check-in, select a seat and receive real-time flight information from Air Canada all in one inbox.

Other features make it easy for event planners to receive notification of flight changes, have access to car rentals, a link to restaurant guides and the ability to search Air Canada and Jazz flight information. The airline  also provides mobile details on gate information, diversions and local weather conditions.

The application was developed for Air Canada by IBM.

Air Canada has revamped their mobile portal to mirror the features of the BlackBerry app. The app can be downloaded for free.

The airline also is planning to offer WiFi services on some flights to the U.S west coast.
