Starwood has debuted its Aloft brand in New York, in Harlem, the first hotel from a major chain to open in that neighbourhood in a century.
The property’s 124 loft-like guestrooms feature 9-ft. ceilings and urban-influenced design.
Each room features wired and wireless Internet access and one-stop connectivity for PDAs, cell phones, MP3 players and laptops – all linked to a 42-inch, flat-panel, HDTV-ready television.
Other amenities include re:chargeSM fitness center and re:fuel by Aloft, a one-stop food and beverage area offering sweet, savory and healthy food, snacks and beverages to grab and go, 24 hours a day.
The Harlem property has debuted Smart Check-In, allowing guests to skip the front desk and head directly to their rooms with a special RFID-powered keycard.
