Rendering of ALT Hotel scheduled for Halifax's airport.
Atlantic Canada’s first ALT Hotel will open next spring at Halifax Stanfield International Airport (HSIA).
Part of a $27-million investment, the eco-conscious and non-smoking property will be connected to the airport by an enclosed pedestrian walkway.
It will feature 169 rooms, a swimming pool and approximately 7,000 sq. ft. of meeting space, including creative lounges designed for more casual meetings, such as brainstorming sessions.
An onsite restaurant will offer food that can be eaten onsite or taken out.
The only other ALT Hotel outside Quebec opened in June, at Toronto’s Pearson International Airport.
In development are Montreal, scheduled to open in the fall, 2013, and Ottawa and Winnipeg, both scheduled to launch in spring, 2014.
Over the next five to 10 years, Groupe Germain Hospitality plans to expand the brand across Canada’s main markets.
