Atlantica Hotel Halifax is ‘bullfrogpowering’ its meeting rooms and administrative offices with 100-per-cent renewable electricity.
Through the agreement, Bullfrog’s Maritime generators inject renewable electricity into the grid to match the amount of power Atlantica Hotel Halifax uses in its meeting rooms and administrative offices.
In the Maritime provinces, Bullfrog sources from EcoLogo-certified wind farms and low-impact hydro facilities in Prince Edward Island and New Brunswick.
The decision complements the hotel’s existing sustainability plan and will enable Atlantica Hotel to reduce further its emissions footprint.
Previously, Atlantica Hotel Halifax has implemented a number of green initiatives, including hotel-wide recycling and organic waste diversion programmes, limiting the use of single-serve items such as creamers in the dining room, and retrofitting lighting to be more energy efficient.
