Atlific Hotels Adds Algoma Property to Management Portfolio

Atlific Hotels is now managing Algoma’s Water Tower Inn & Suites. The property is a landmark of the Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario skyline. Gail Chapelsky has been appointed general manager.

Algoma’s Water Tower Inn & Suites was built in 1974 by the Hilsinger family, owners of J.J.’s Hospitality Ltd. and long-time members of the Sault Ste. Marie business community. The property is home to The Pavilion Conference and Event Centre, a highly flexible, interconnecting space for meetings and events. Other features and services include:

  • 176 rooms and suites
  • Club Cabana Aqua Spa (four pools and whirlpools, indoors and out)
  • Tempospa Health & Fitness Centre
  • three restaurants: Casey’s Grill • Bar, Water Tower Pub, and The Breakfast Club
  • free high-speed WiFi

Retrofitted with LED lighting and energy-efficient products, it is a hotel member of the Global Green Key Program.

Gail Chapelsky has been appointed general manager. Her relationship with Atlific goes back to 2004 when she opened the Victoria Marriott Inner Harbour as director of operations. Since then she has served as general manager at the Lake Louise Inn and Hilton Garden Inn West Edmonton.

“I am thrilled to bring Atlific’s impeccable service to this fantastic property,” said Chapelsky. “I look forward to continuing the tradition of excellent hospitality that the hotel is known for with the added Atlific touch.”

Algoma’s Water Tower Inn & Suites is centrally-located in Sault Ste. Marie. It is a five-minute drive to the Lake Superior and Lake Huron Heritage Coasts parks and trail systems, and a 20-minute drive from Sault Ste. Marie Airport.
