Dual-branded Property Opens in Calgary


Atlific Hotels has announced the joint opening of Courtyard by Marriott and Residence Inn by Marriott in the Seton Urban District of Calgary South today.

“Atlific is thrilled to bring this contemporary and unique, dual-branded property to life,” said Tim Tindle, vice-president, Operations, Atlific Hotels. “We are delighted to expand our trusted management services in the thriving Calgary market and look forward to building our relationship with MasterBUILT Hotels, the owners of these great properties.”

Tim Ostrem was appointed general manager in May 2015 and oversaw all operational and marketing activities while the hotels were still under construction. Prior to joining Atlific, he was the GM at The Algonquin Resort St. Andrews-by-the-Sea, Autograph Collection®. “I’m excited about the new build and look forward to introducing this dual-branded concept to our guests and the community,” he said.

COURTYARD BY MARRIOTT CALGARY SOUTH

The seven-storey Courtyard by Marriott property will cater to transient guests. It features 124 rooms and four suites. Meeting and event space is comprised of two 750-square-foot meeting rooms that can be combined into a 1,500 square foot space with a maximum capacity of 98 reception and 80 banquet style.

The property’s amenities include a 24-hour fitness centre; indoor/outdoor connecting swimming pool and whirlpool; a lobby GoBoard providing up-to-date news, weather and local information; and The Bistro, which offers seasonal dining selections and signature cocktails in a fun atmosphere.

In addition, the property has an on-site, upscale, full-service SOMA spa featuring the city’s first Hammam treatment room.

RESIDENCE INN BY MARRIOTT CALGARY SOUTH

Located adjacent to the Courtyard by Marriott Calgary South, this property provides extended stay options and is pet-friendly. Its 3,315-square-feet of meeting space is made up of four rooms. The largest space has a maximum capacity of 112. Suites feature full-equipped kitchens. Amenities include free grocery delivery; dry cleaning and on-site laundry; free WiFi; business centre services; and daily hot breakfast.

Guests of the Residence Inn can use their room key to access the fitness centre and pool located at the Courtyard via second floor shared space.

The properties are a half hour drive from the Calgary International Airport. Nearby attractions include Spruce Meadows, The Calgary Zoo, Telus Spark Science Centre, Fish Creek Provincial Park and Bragg Creek.
