The Austin Convention & Visitors Bureau has launched an interactive tool to solicit convention groups: the Five-Minute Meeting Planner.
This web application offers meeting planners the opportunity to enter basic event details and compare the area hotels, service providers and vendors that can best accommodate their group or convention.
After logging on, planners answer five questions about their meeting: dates, room nights necessary on peak, required meeting space and off-site facilities, and preferred neighborhood.
In turn, the Five-Minute Meeting Planner quickly returns custom search results that fit the group’s requirements.
From there, the user can chart the returned listings and compare them side by side, or map the venues to find, say, the distance from a preferred hotel to an off-site reception.
