Brian Vallipuram has been named executive chef at the new Grill 41, in the Lord Elgin hotel, in Ottawa.
Having helmed such venerable restaurants as Mark McEwan’s North 44 and his own Axcess Restaurant, both in Toronto, Vallipuram, at the Ottawa eatery, brings his own deft touch to what he calls “grown-up comfort food.”
“Chef Vallipuram brings with him an impressive list of accomplishments and a wealth of experience that we are thrilled to have at Grill 41,” said David Smythe, general manager of the Lord Elgin. ”We are proud of the new space and the locally-inspired menu at the restaurant and know that [he] will continue to raise the standard, bringing our guests an incredible dining experience.”
Grill 41 features a Canadian-inspired menu created in collaboration with well-known Food Network star and best-selling cookbook author, chef Michael Smith.
