Calypso Waterpark is scheduled to open June 7.
Construction of the 100-acre Calypso Theme Waterpark, near Ottawa, is almost complete and is targeting a June 7 opening.
Located in Limoges, Ont., 20 minutes from Ottawa and 75 minutes from Montreal, the park will feature 35 waterslides and a Caribbean theme throughout.
Features include Canada’s largest wave pool, as big as three NHL rinks; the twisting Jungle Run River; and waterslides named Adrenaline, Vertigo, Turbulence and Blackhole.
In addition, the waterpark offers two international-calibre beach volleyball courts and grassy landscaped areas.
Offering refreshment is the Hawaiian Beach Bar, while restaurants dish up a variety of foods.
In addition, the new waterpark can host corporate groups, incentive travel groups, events and team-building, says Sylvain Lauzon, executive vice-president.
Plans for adjacent land call for the opening of a 700-site campground by 2012, he adds.
