The Carolina Inn in Chapel Hill, North Carolina, has been accepted as the newest member of Associated Luxury Hotels International (ALHI).
Opened in 1924, the fully-renovated, AAA four-diamond hotel is ALHI’s third member in North Carolina. It joins the Pinehurst Resort (in Pinehurst) and The Omni Grove Park Inn in Asheville.
Located on the campus of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, The Carolina Inn has won AAA’s Four-Diamond Award for 16 consecutive years. It features:
- 185 renovated guestrooms including seven luxurious suites
- 29,000+ sq. ft. of flexible indoor and outdoor function space, which can accommodate up to 500 guests
- 11 meeting rooms
- one of only three Forbes four-star restaurants in North Carolina—Carolina Crossroads Restaurant & Bar
Amenities include Wi-Fi throughout, a fitness center, a business center, full-service concierge, valet/laundry service, and nightly turndown. The hotel is situated near the Ackland Art Museum, Morehead Planetarium, the Tom Fazio-designed UNC Finley Golf Course, Kenan Stadium, Dean Smith Center, the North Carolina Botanical Gardens, and Research Triangle Park. In addition, it is just 25 minutes from Raleigh-Durham International Airport (RDU).
In addition to its membership in ALHI’s worldwide portfolio of four- and five-diamond quality hotels and resorts, The Carolina Inn is the newest addtion to the “ALHI U-200 Gems Collection” and “ALHI Historic Collection” specialty segments. The former consists of ALHI’s hotels and resorts with fewer than 200 rooms (17 properties), and the latter consists of AlHI hotels older than 50 years (40 properties).
