LondonHouse, a 452-room luxury lifestyle hotel scheduled to open in Spring 2016, is the newest member of the Curio – A Collection by Hilton.
The property will be located in Chicago’s historic London Guarantee Building and new 22-storey architecturally-synchronized Modernist glass tower. Its Windy City-based developer and manager, Oxford Capital Group, LLC, began work on the Alfred S. Alschuler-designed London Guarantee Building in 2013. Construction of the new glass tower, designed by Chicago’s Goettsch Partners, began in December 2014.
“LondonHouse will embody all the hallmarks of what connects Curio – A Collection by Hilton to the energy and pulse of local communities,” said Dianna Vaughan, global head, Curio – A Collection by Hilton. “With its rich history and combination of iconic 1920s architecture and its 21st century Modernist glass tower addition in the heart of Chicago, LondonHouse will give curious travellers that authentic experience that has become synonymous with the Curio brand.”
When completed, the hotel will have approximately 25,000 square feet of meeting and pre-function space comprised of a junior and grand ballroom, and multiple board and meeting rooms. The refurbished historic cupola and rooftop Dining and outdoor event spaces will offer what Oxford believes will be the city’s only tri-level hotel rooftop with panoramic views of the city.
