The Chilean tourism board said Chile’s tourism infrastructure has been progressively recovering following the magnitude 8.8 earthquake in February.

Santiago’s International Airport is operating 95 per cent of scheduled flights, meanwhile national carrier LAN Airlines said all flight operations are back to normal, though some domestic flights are operating on a limited schedule.

Major hotels in the country’s capital are open and fully operational with the exception of the Radisson Hotel Santiago North, which is closed until further notice due to structural damage.

Chile’s major ski resorts will be open and resume business as normal during the Southern Hemisphere winter season.

Surfing towns along the coast, near the quake epicenter around the city of Concepcion, have reported damages and are not yet operational.
