Fairmont Announces Appointments
Fairmont Hotels has announced a number of appointments at its Canadian properties and at corporate head office.
Garrett Turta has been named general manager of The Fairmont Algonquin, in St. Andrews, N.B. Most recently, Turta was director, rooms at The Fairmont Chateau Lake Louise.
Kamal Uduwarage is the new executive chef at The Fairmont Vancouver Airport. Uduwarage joins the hotel from The Fairmont Dubai, where he was executive sous-chef.
Victoria Verpoorte has been promoted to director, sales and marketing at B.C.’s Fairmont Chateau Whistler. Verpoorte, who worked at The Fairmont Washington, D.C., prior to arriving in Whistler, most recently served as the Chateau’s director, group sales.
Demelza Kemp has been promoted to director, sales and marketing at The Fairmont Chateau Lake Louise. Kemp most recently served as the resort’s director, group sales.
Lana Uytterhagen has been named director, sales and marketing at The Fairmont Hotel Macdonald, in Edmonton. Uytterhagen returns to Fairmont after a stint at the Delta Bow Valley, in Calgary.
Louis Zanni assumes the role of corporate director, rooms, Fairmont Hotels & Resorts. Zanni moves into the role from The Fairmont Orchid, in Hawaii. In this position, Zanni will focus on the development and implementation of new room standards and brand operating procedures.
Accent Inns Appoints New Regional Sales Manager
Accent Inns has named Kim Jones regional sales manager. Based at the chain’s Vancouver International Airport location, in Richmond, B.C., Jones will sell to the corporate, travel agent and government markets in B.C.’s Lower Mainland.
