Deerhurst Resort, in Huntsville, Ont., has been chosen to host the 36th annual G8 Summit of world leaders in 2010.
Two hours north of Toronto, 780-acre Deerhurst was picked based on its accessible location, expertise in hosting large events and extensive conference facilities. These encompass 40,000 sq. ft. of interior meeting space, with two ballrooms and the re-designed Lakeview Room. The resort’s 400 guestrooms accommodate up to 1,000.
Other amenities include an extensive waterfront, two 18-hole golf courses, a private airstrip, outdoor paintball terrain, high and low ropes course and climbing wall for teambuilding, four restaurants and an updated spa.
“We’re looking forward to working with the entire Deerhurst staff and our neighbours across the region to showcase Muskoka around the globe,” says Deerhurst Resort general manager Joseph Klein.
