Inn at Laurel Point, formerly the Laurel Point Inn, in Victoria, B.C., has unveiled a $5-million renovation along with its new name.
The makeover includes a new waterfront restaurant and outdoor patio and, for all 200 rooms, new wood furniture, modern artwork, chocolate-brown leather couches and plush bedding. Similar design elements flow into the restaurant. Located on the edge of Victoria’s Inner Harbour, the Inn commissioned interior designer Robert Ledingham for the renovation.
Managing director Ian Powell says the goal of the update was to add panache, while keeping with the owners’ original vision for the Inn. “When the Arsens’ bought the Inn in 1980, they created a haven for guests – a place to rejuvenate and appreciate the waterfront surroundings,” says Powell. “The renovations and added luxuries really honour that vision.”
