On Aug. 11 and 12, an ‘army’ of event and marketing planners will report to the second-annual Special Event Boot Camp, at downtown Toronto’s Steam Whistle Brewing, to enhance their skills and have a little fun.

Camp ‘drill sergeants’ call out directives and, in short order, attendees will begin creating event portfolios, marketing events with social media, designing creative themes, greening their events and delivering five-star service and running an entire event production. Assisting these training efforts are a team of North America’s top event professionals.

Planners will learn the skills to develop events from a concept, to planning, to financial management and measurement. On Aug. 12, the programme closes with an inauguration celebration attended by boot-camp ‘recruits,’ industry colleagues and invited guests.
