Sabrina Utting Named Director of Sales, Westin Habour Castle
Sabrina Utting has been named director of sales and marketing at Toronto’s Westin Harbour Castle. Utting has more than nine years of hospitality experience with Starwood Hotels, most recently serving as director of sales and marketing at the Sheraton Gateway Toronto International Airport.
In her new role, Utting will be responsible for leading Harbour Castle’s sales, marketing and communication initiatives.
Sandy Biback Named Reader of the Year
Sandy Biback, CMP, CMM, principal with Toronto-based Imagination+ Meetings Planners Inc., has been named PCMA Convene Reader of the Year.
“I was delighted to receive the first-ever PCMA Convene Reader of the Year Award in Seattle at the annual conference. I send Convene many comments and they decided they should create this award,” says Biback, who’s also been named to the Convene task force.
Jennifer Campbell Wins Contest
Jennifer Campbell, meeting planner for BDO Dunwoody, won the 4-Diamond contest organized by Mississauga, Ont.’s.The Waterside Inn and launched at last August’s IncentiveWorks show. The prize included a pair of diamond earrings, two night’s stay in a penthouse suite, breakfast and dinner for two in the hotel’s CAA 4-Diamond restaurant, Breakwater.
In order to enter, a planner had to book a conference with the hotel during the months of January, February and March, 2008.
“This contest generated a lot of interest from our clients and as a result, there were numerous entries. It worked so well, we are thinking of doing the same again for first quarter, 2009,” says general manager Ralph Schwengers. “I congratulate Jennifer on being the lucky winner.”
“I am very excited about winning this prize. As we ladies know, diamonds are a girl’s best friend,” says Campbell, who received her prize on Feb. 22.
