NewAir & Tours (NA&T), a Calgary-based tour and charter-airline operator, plans to launch late this year, and has leased an aircraft and sketched out its general plans.
During peak domestic travel months, NA&T will offer charter-style air service and travel product between Canadian markets on routes unserved or under-served by current operators, according to the company’s business plan. During shoulder seasons, the airline will offer packaged air and land travel products to sun-spot destinations. From secondary markets, it will offer service to high-demand mainstream destinations not offered as a direct air service by competitors, notes the business plan.
From major markets, NA&T will provide service to niche leisure destinations not served directly by other carriers or tour operators. Land packages will range from accommodation-only to all-inclusive.
“We have secured a lease on a single 737-700W [and] expect it to pass inspection and be up here in Canada in the mid- to late fall,” says Dean McKenzie, vice-president of culture and communications.
