The historic Old U.S. Mint Building, in San Francisco, has opened as an event venue. Located downtown, at Fifth and Mission Streets, the Mint houses 100,000 sq. ft. amid 20 rooms and accommodates stand-up receptions for 400; seated dinners in intimate vaults; cocktail parties in the historic Counting Rooms and outdoor events in the Mint Plaza space adjacent to the building.
Catering can be provided by such neighbouring food and beverage outlets as Chez Papa Resto and Blue Bottle Coffee.
Completed in1874, the Old U.S. Mint is nationally recognized as the last major example of classical revival architecture in the U.S.
