MPI’s August, 2008, World Education Congress (WEC), in Las Vegas, was the largest global gathering of meeting and event professionals in its history, with over 4,500 attendees from 33 countries.

During the conference, MPI provided elevated content, new programmes, expansive networking and enhanced corporate social responsibility initiatives. MPI delivered over 100 knowledge sessions, while an enhanced marketplace experience also incorporated concepts pioneered at MPI’s MeetDifferentSM event, in February, featuring open environments and connection spots as an alternative to the traditional tradeshow.

MPI’s new corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiatives featured attendee volunteers from WEC participating in a community outreach programme at Opportunity Village, a not-for-profit organization that employs disabled people through several channels in Las Vegas, including a fund-raising thrift store and two campuses.
