Montreal’s Palais des Congres is marking its 25th anniversary by launching a revamped website. New features include dedicated sections for planners, exhibitors and visitors; video presentations of the Palais’ services; and a page including practical hints on organizing green events.
Since it opened in 1983, the Palais has welcomed 12.6-million visitors during the course of 4,339 events resulting in 3.7-million room nights. Furthermore, the facility has helped make Montreal Canada’s leading host city for international meetings and North America’s second-leading international convention destination, according to the Union of International Associations.
In 2006-2007, the Palais recorded its second-best year, when it hosted 215 events and attracted over 600,000 visitors. In recent years, it has held such large-scale international events as the United Nations Climate Change Conference and the MPI World Education Congress.
