Fledgling Canadian tour and charter-airline operator NewAir and Tours has changed its name to Enerjet and will begin offering air-charter operations throughout Canada in the first quarter of 2009.
In addition, the Calgary-based airline operator will launch its tour-company arm in the third quarter of 2009, and has secured a lease on a Boeing 737-700W aircraft.
According to Enerjet’s business plan, during peak domestic travel months, it will offer charter-style air service and travel product between Canadian markets on routes unserved or under-served by current operators. During shoulder seasons, the airline will offer packaged air and land travel products to sun-spot destinations. From secondary markets, it will offer service to high-demand mainstream destinations not offered as a direct air service by competitors, notes the business plan.
