Frederick MacGillivray Ends His Term as TCL President on March 31
On March 31, Frederick MacGillivray will end his term as president and CEO of Halifax-based Trade Centre Limited (TCL).
“On behalf of the board, I wish to recognize Fred for his tremendous contribution,” said Stewart McInnes, chair of TCL’s board of directors. “We have been privileged to have Fred MacGillivray at the helm of this provincial crown corporation. He has brought boundless energy and enthusiasm to his role over the past 15 years and we celebrate his many accomplishments.”
TCL operates six business units: World Trade & Convention Centre, in Halifax; Ticket Atlantic, a ticket-purchase service for Nova Scotia; Halifax Metro Centre: Halifax Metro Centre multi-entertainment facility; Exhibition Park, a 102,557-sq.-ft. event venue; Events Halifax, which helps Nova Scotia organizations attract and secure large cultural and sporting events; and the World Trade Centre Atlantic Canada trade organization.
The TCL board will announce a successor once one is chosen.
Michael Drake Named International Accounts Director for Westin Harbour Castle and Sheraton Centre
The Westin Harbour Castle and Sheraton Centre Toronto have appointed Michael Drake international accounts director, based in Toronto. In this role, he will work with international corporate and associate business for Starwood Hotels’ two flagship Toronto hotels.
Drake brings over 13 years hospitality experience across varied markets and disciplines, including eight years focused on the Canadian corporate market. Most recently, he served as the director of worldwide accounts for Hyatt Hotels & Resorts. Previously, he held sales positions with the Park Hyatt Toronto, Delta Chelsea and Fairmont Royal York.
