Dolce Hotels and Resorts has partnered with the Climate Savers Computing Initiative to establish more energy-efficient practices at all of its properties in America and Europe. For instance, Dolce will ensure that all inactive computers are turned off after a certain hour.
Other measures include: Purchasing only Energy Star-qualified computers, printers and servers; configuring all computers at Dolce corporate offices and individual properties to “sleep” when not used for 20 minutes; setting the appropriate temperature for air conditioners in computer rooms; adding sensors and timers to auto turn on/off lights in backstage areas; turning off audio visual equipment, rather than leaving in “sleep” mode.
Launched by Google and Intel in 2007, the Climate Savers Computing Initiative is a non-profit group of eco-conscious consumers, conservation organizations and businesses.
