Clayoquot Wilderness Resort, near Tofino, B.C., on Vancouver Island, has been named a 2009 Grand Award Winner by Andrew Harper’s Hideaway Report, a resource for information on luxury travel.
Hotels considered for the prestigious award must be relatively small and possess a strong individual personality. Properties are also required to have a relaxing atmosphere and demonstrate a devotion to personal service. Additionally, all offer the traveler comfort, warmth and charm, as well as a spirit of sincere hospitality.
An all-inclusive eco-resort open from May to October, the property is located in the Clayoquot Sound Biosphere reserve. The resort offers three-, four- and seven-night packages and includes a gourmet culinary experience and spa facilities. Activities include hiking, horseback riding, ocean and fresh-water fishing and whale and bear watching.
