Hotels considered for the prestigious award must be relatively small and possess a strong individual personality. Properties are also required to have a relaxing atmosphere and demonstrate a devotion to personal service. Additionally, all offer the traveler comfort, warmth and charm, as well as a spirit of sincere hospitality.

An all-inclusive eco-resort open from May to October, the property is located in the Clayoquot Sound Biosphere reserve. The resort offers three-, four- and seven-night packages and includes a gourmet culinary experience and spa facilities.
