Fairmont Hotels will open Fairmont Jaipur, in Rajasthan, India, in 2010. The 248-room hotel will house a variety of restaurants and bars, including a poolside bar, a 10,000-sq.-ft. Willow Stream spa and a 5,000-sq.-ft. health club.
To accommodate the area’s growing meetings market, the property will feature a 48,500-sq.-ft. convention centre and gardens that can host over 1,000 people. The Fairmont Jaipur will be close to the Amber Fort, one of the area’s major landmarks, and the building’s design will reflect the city’s rich cultural heritage.
Jaipur is a popular tourist and meetings destination, considered part of the “Golden Triangle” travel circuit, along with Delhi and Agra. Its history dates back almost 300 years and it was the first planned city in India.
