Shangri-La Tokyo Opens; Chicago Suspended

Shangri-La Hotel, Tokyo has opened on the top 11 floors of Marunouchi Trust Tower Main, a 37-floor, mixed-use building adjacent to Tokyo Station.

Shangri-La TokyoShangri-La Hotel, Tokyo has opened on the top 11 floors of Marunouchi Trust Tower Main, a 37-floor, mixed-use building adjacent to Tokyo Station.

Offering views of Marunouchi to the east and Tokyo Bay to the west, the 202-room hotel features a 3,981-sq.-ft. ballroom and three meeting rooms ranging from 591 sq. ft. to 1,183 sq. ft.

Also offering wedding facilities, complete with a chapel, along with a health club and indoor swimming pool, the property features food and beverage options such as and the Horizon Club lounge, and two restaurants, Piacere Italian eatery and Nadaman Japanese restaurant, along with a Lobby Lounge serving afternoon tea.

In other news, the global economic meltdown has forced suspension of the Shangri-La Hotel, Chicago project, with no indication of when development might resume.
