Okabe Buys Rhombus Hotel; to Renovate and Rebrand by Summer

Okabe North America Inc. (ONA) has purchased the Rhombus Hotels & Resorts, in Chilliwack, B.C.

Rhombus HotelOkabe North America Inc. (ONA) has purchased the Rhombus Hotels & Resorts, in Chilliwack, B.C., and is undertaking a renovation, with plans to rebrand the property as the Coast Chilliwack Hotel when it reopens this summer.

Owner of five hotels in Western Canada, ONA is carrying out a $5-million refurbishment that will entail a redesign and upgrade of all 110 guestrooms. In addition, the exterior of the property is undergoing a makeover, including new siding and a new roof, while the lobby, restaurant, lounge and meeting and banquet facilities are also being upgraded.

New plumbing is being installed, and the business centre expanded and the fitness facility updated.

ONA, which owns Coast Hotels & Resorts, has selected the hotel chain to manage the new Chilliwack property.
