Fairmont has reopened The Plaza, one of New York’s landmark hotels, following a two-year, $400-million renovation. The refurbished Plaza features 282 guestrooms and 102 suites designed in a Louis XV style outfitted with 24-karat gold-plated sinks and fixtures, solid-white marble vanities and white-glove butler service.
The Plaza offers 21,000 sq. ft. of meeting space and seven new meeting rooms, including the Grand Ballroom and the Terrace Room, which can accommodate 500-700 and 350-500, respectively. Complementing the Palm Court dining area is a new lobby Champagne bar.
Set to open in late spring, the Plaza’s retail component, occupying 160,000 sq. ft. on six levels, will include luxury shops, high-end boutiques and specialty food stores and will also feature a Caudalie Spa, Fitness Center by Radu and a Warren Tricomi Salon.
