Sales Appointments at Fairmont Chateau Whistler
Fairmont Chateau Whistler has named Victoria Verpoorte director, sales and marketing and appointed Heike Tiemann senior sales manager.
Verpoorte has worked for The Delta Lodge at Kananaskis; The Fairmont Chateau Whistler, from 1997 to 1999, and, most recently, The Fairmont Washington, D.C. In February, 2007, she returned to The Fairmont Chateau Whistler as director, group sales.
Tiemann has worked for The Fairmont Waterfront Hotel as guest-service agent and held a variety of positions in operations before moving into the sales department as sales coordinator in 2000. She will be covering the Western U.S. group market.
New President at Carlson Wagonlit
The board of directors of Carlson Wagonlit Travel (CWT) has named Douglas Anderson president and chief executive officer, effective immediately.
Anderson, who joined the company as executive vice-president and chief financial officer just over a year ago, succeeds Hubert Joly, who, on March 1, became president and chief executive officer of Carlson, CWT’s majority shareholder.
Anderson has worked in the Asia-Pacific region and Europe for 18 of the last 20 years. He spent 25 years at UPS, based in the U.S., Hong Kong, London and Brussels, and in his most recent position, was senior vice-president, finance, and CFO, UPS Logistics Group.
