GEP names Andrew Rosuck President of South Florida Office

dianeGlobal Events Partners (GEP), a partnership of destination management companies, has named Andrew Rosuck president and CEO of GEP South Florida.

Rosuck brings more than twenty years of executive experience in hospitality, in the areas of event planning, hotel and programme management and destination marketing, and will lead the office’s sales, marketing, operations and human-resources activities.

Founded in 2005, GEP South Florida is one of GEP’s five company-owned DMCs and covers the entire South Florida region, north to Palm Beach.

Starwood Names Denise Coll President, North America

dianeStarwood Hotels & Resorts has promoted Denise Coll to president of its North America Division. In her new role, Coll, who most recently served as senior vice-president of operations for the division, will oversee operations, sales and marketing for more than 450 hotels in the U.S., Canada, U.S. Virgin Islands, Bahamas, French Polynesia and British West Indies.

Coll began her hospitality career 30 years ago. In 1998, she joined Boston’s Seaport Companies as chief operating officer and in 2003, was named senior vice-president/general manager, overseeing the Seaport Hotel & Seaport World Trade Center. In 2004, Coll joined Starwood Hotels & Resorts as regional vice-president of operations for New England. 

Decor & More Wins Three Star Awards

Decor & More Inc. has been honored three times at the 11th Annual Canadian Events Industry Star Awards. Held at Toronto’s Circa nightclub, the awards recognize outstanding achievements in Canadian special events, meeting management, conference planning and exhibition management.

Oakville, Ont.-based Decor & More took top honors for Best Theme Decor over $30,000, Best Table Center and Best Tradeshow Booth. In the Best Theme Decor over $30,000 category, the company won for “Putting on the Ritz,” designed and produced for Ontario’s CasinoRama.

For Best Table Centre, Decor & More won for “Floral Fantasy Wedding,” a wedding held inside the Four Seasons Hotel Toronto. In the Best Tradeshow Booth category, Decor & More took top honors for “Imaginarium,” an oasis of tranquility within a two-day tradeshow for the Canadian Meetings & Incentive Expo.
