The CN Tower, Toronto’s iconic landmark and tourist attraction, has introduced North America’s first, and the world’s highest, glass-floor-paneled elevator.
One of the Tower’s six glass-fronted elevators has been enhanced topresent a new perspective on the view 1,136 ft. straight down. A portion of the elevator floor now features two glass panels offering a combined 6 sq. ft. of floor space.
Traveling at 15 mph, the Tower’s six glass-fronted elevators take guests to the top of its glass-fronted elevator shaft, earning the distinction as the World’s No. 1 elevator ride.
As part of the Tower’s ongoing upgrades, the elevator-car replacement includes two glass floor panels, each almost 2 1/2 in. thick.
The glass panels in the enhanced elevator were designed using the same strength and durability standards of the CN Tower’s Glass Floor.
