Maritz Appoints Alissa Hurley Director, Meetings, Events and Incentive Travel
Maritz Canada has named Alissa Hurley director, meetings, events and incentive travel. In her new position, Hurley will lead a team specializing in incentive travel, strategic meetings management and experiential marketing.
Hurely brings with her 15 years of experience managing large conference and expositions, incentive-travel operations, destination management and marketing communications.
She has been with Maritz since 2004 and led an on-site event-marketing team for Microsoft Canada, handling an increasing number of annual events. In 2007, Hurley became portfolio director, strategic event marketing and spearheaded a new research-driven event-measurement approach to better support client marketing objectives.
Green Meetings Industry Council Names New Executive Director
The Portland, Ore.-based Green Meetings Industry Council has named Tamara Kennedy Hill executive director. Since 2001, Kennedy Hill has been at Travel Portland, an organization that has embraced environmental responsibility. Additionally, she was a co-founder and team leader of an International Green Team at Travel Portland and has spoken on the subject of green meetings at a variety of industry events.
