Upwards of 20,000 people thronged Toronto’s Nathan Phillips Square to mark the launch of the 43rd annual Cavalcade of Lights festival.By Don Douloff, Photos by Odyssey Productions, January 31, 2010

Event featured lighting of a 60-ft. Christmas tree designed by Brian Gluckstein and decorated using ornaments from the GlucksteinHome collection. Entertainment: Show conceived under the musical direction of Adrian Eccleston. Musical performances by electronica band Fritz Helder & the Phantoms, r’n’b singer Keshia Chante, former Barenaked Lady Steven Page and jazz crooner Matt Dusk. DJ Tony Sutherland played tunes for skaters during a Michael Jackson tribute; highlighting the event was a fireworks show. On the retail side, a fair-trade market sold gifts and decorations from around the world. Stretching the Budget: Certain suppliers provided more for the same amount of money. Some event elements were trimmed — for instance, using two videoscreens instead of four. Sponsors provided funding and in-kind donations and food/merchandise vendors paid a fee for on-site access. Much of the work was done by the events team — for example, manually placing City of Toronto 175th Anniversary stickers on the pinwheel giveaways instead of paying to have them pre-branded. The team also used existing decor elements and internal staff to decorate the tent for the free-trade market and other on-site amenities. |

Howdy this is kinda of off topic but I was wanting to know if blogs use WYSIWYG editors or if you have to manually code with HTML. I’m starting a blog soon but have no coding expertise so I wanted to get guidance from someone with experience. Any help would be enormously appreciated!

Can I just say what a relief to find someone who actually knows what theyre talking about on the internet. You definitely know how to bring an issue to light and make it important. More people need to read this and understand this side of the story. I cant believe youre not more popular because you definitely have the gift.

An interesting discussion is worth comment. I think that you should write more on this topic, it might not be a taboo subject but generally people are not enough to speak on such topics. To the next. Cheers

I would love to go to this! Although.. is that girl in the blue dress an example of what a “best dressed lady” should look like? I’m scared.

How about actually saying something in your comments rather than just some generic comment that has no relation to what the post is actually about.
