New York superchef Daniel Boulud has named Tyler Shedden chef de cuisine of Cafe Boulud Toronto, opening in the Four Seasons Hotel Toronto Oct. 5, in the city’s Yorkville district.
A native of Canada’s West Coast, Shedden has worked at such notable Canadian eateries as C restaurant and Raincity Grill, in Vancouver.
In 2006, he moved to New York to work as sous chef at Gordon Ramsay’s London NYC restaurant and in 2008, was promoted to executive sous chef.
In May, 2011, he became private dining room chef at Daniel, Boulud’s fine-dining restaurant in New York City.
Cafe Boulud Toronto’s menu will be inspired by classic French cuisine; seasonal dishes; the vegetable garden; and international flavours.
Also opening in the Four Seasons Toronto will be dbar, serving Boulud favourites such as the db burger, house-made charcuterie, sausages and croque-monsieur sandwiches.
