The 566-room Delta Toronto opens in 2014.

Ground was broken today in Toronto at the corner of Simcoe and Bremner Streets, in the downtown core, the site of Delta’s new flagship hotel, the Delta Toronto.

The 566-room, four-star hotel will offer views of the lake, downtown skyline or CN Tower from every guestroom. Oversized suites will average about 400 sq. ft. and will feature four-piece bathrooms with freestanding tub and shower.

The hotel, to be completed in 2014, has been designed with the latest in sustainable features and includes an urban forest, which will create a downtown green space, with forested walkways and gardens.

The Delta Toronto will offer 20,000 sq. ft. of state-of-the-art meeting space, including an 8,000-sq.-ft. flexible ballroom with floor-to-ceiling windows and a 10,000-sq.-ft. terrace.

An indoor link will connect the hotel to Union Station, the underground PATH system, the Metro Toronto Convention Centre and the Air Canada Centre.
