Following an extensive $7.5 million renovation, a familiar 18-year-old downtown Halifax hotel space has been transformed into The Hollis Halifax – a DoubleTree Suites by Hilton. The nine-storey, boutique-like property, formerly a Radisson property, is a first for the Hilton brand in Nova Scotia. It is owned and managed by Manga Hotels.
The Hollis is just one block from the waterfront, and many of its 120 oversized suites offer views of the Halifax Harbour. Each room has a separate seating area, 42-inch HDTV, desk, wet bar, and stylish bathroom with rain shower and high-end toiletries. Amenities include a fitness facility, swimming pool with whirlpool, business centre, and 3,000 square feet of meeting space.
“We believe The Hollis will be Halifax’s premier hotel experience for both leisure and business guests seeking all the benefits of a globally-renowned, full-service brand within a boutique-like hotel experience,” said Sukhdev Toor, CEO, Manga Hotels.
Paul Harrigan, general manager of The Hollis, added: “Our aim is to always have our guests feel truly welcome and offer outstanding service. We absolutely go all-out to help them feel–as many guests tell us–‘human’ again. We offer a spacious, sleek and modern place to stay that is unlike any other in the city. Guests can expect a top hospitality experience right from the get-go, including the DoubleTree by Hilton’s signature warm chocolate chip cookie welcome.”
