Desha Sampson, the Eaton Chelsea, Toronto’s marketing and e-business manager, has been selected by the Ontario Hostelry Institute (OHI) for its 2014 Top 30 Under 30 list.
The annual recognition program celebrates the hospitality and foodservice industry’s top 30 young professionals in all sectors—individuals who are, and will continue to, make a difference. The winners were acknowledged at a special reception, and featured in a full-page advertisement in Kostuch Media’s Foodservice and Hospitality Magazine and in The Globe and Mail (March 11, 2014).
According to Ken Gruber, Eaton Chelsea’s director of marketing, Sampson has proven that she has the talent to help create inspiring advertising and collateral pieces, as well as the ability to keep projects on time and within budget. “Whether Desha is dealing with agencies, suppliers, partners or colleagues, her work is lauded by all,” says Gruber. “This past year was a particularly challenging one for the hotel, as we re-branded after 38 years from the Delta Chelsea to the Eaton Chelsea. Desha was there every step of the way to ensure that all hotel materials were switched over and that a new multi-media marketing campaign was created to spread the word. As a result, the Eaton Chelsea, and our marketing department, received The Langham Hospitality Group’s 2013 Award of Excellence for Marketing Communications.”
