FMAV Adds to Team

FMAV Team Additions 2016

Audiovisual and event technology company FMAV has added four events industry veterans to its team.

Alissa Hurley, CMM and Wentworth Willock joined the company on the executive level in February. Hurley, who has more than 20 years experience specializing in digital marketing, event planning, online education and project management, is now FMAV’s national director, Client Solutions & Emergent Technology. Willock, who also has two decades plus experience, is national director, Hotels & Venues.

Hurley was previously with Ottawa-based software firm Kinaxis and has held senior management roles at Lenos Software and Maritz (now Bond Brand Loyalty). She also teaches online through Mount Royal University’s Event Management Program. As part of FMAV’s national leadership team, she will be responsible for marketing, MediaLab and leading a team of solution specialists focused on developing next-generation event technology solutions.

Willock comes to FMAV from Freeman Audiovisual Canada where he held the post of regional director of Hotels & Facilities (Southern Ontario). Prior to that, he held senior sports marketing and event management roles including operating his own event planning company. His mandate is to provide vision and technical expertise to develop FMAV within the hotels, venues and facilities segment. Willock is based in Mississauga, Ontario.

In March, Toronto-based event pro Rita Plaskett, CMP, CMM formed a strategic partnership with FMAV. Plaskett is developing and implementing new programs to educate and enable the planner community while assisting the company’s Sales, Marketing, and Client Solution/Emergent Technology teams in taking the programs to market.

Most recently, FMAV welcomed Brent Beatty to the team as national director, Solution Sales & Market Development. Beatty has more than 25 years industry experience spanning technical, tourism and business management roles. His mandate in his new role includes development of sales strategies to enable growth while collaborating with Client Solutions and Marketing teams to influence product development and market strategy. Beatty is based in Ottawa.


In December 2015, FrischkornMEDIACO relaunched as FMAV. It has more than 25o staff and offices in Vancouver, Calgary, Edmonton, Toronto, Ottawa, Montreal and Halifax.
