Hilton Worldwide plans to launch at least 500 restaurants by 2015 in its hotels around the world and has developed a website to help match suitable eatery concepts to its properties.
Under the plan, a Hilton hotel posts, on the company’s website, its need for a restaurant, and a restaurant posts their concepts/themes, in hopes of finding a suitable match of hotel to concept.
On top of this, Hilton is developing proprietary restaurant concepts that will, in time, be rolled out. The company also conducts market surveys to launch restaurant concepts in luxury properties in high-visibility locales.
In addition, the chain is seeking established local or national-chain restaurants to operate, or lease space in, Hilton properties.
According to media reports, the website has attracted almost 900 registered hotel owners, interested in identifying new restaurant concepts.
