Hilton Adds Jamaican Properties to Curio Brand

Jewel Paradise Cove Beach Resort & Spa Runaway Bay and Jewel Dunn’s River Beach Resort & Spa Ocho Rios have signed to become part of Hilton Worldwide’s upscale brand, Curio – A Collection by Hilton. They are the first two Caribbean properties to join the brand.

“Surrounded by the natural beauty of Dunn’s River Falls and Mystic Mountain, the Jewel properties have long been synonymous with the best of Jamaica’s nature and culture,” said Dianna Vaughan, global head of Curio – A Collection by Hilton. “It’s fitting that our first Curio properties in the region are in Jamaica, which could be considered the curio of the Caribbean with its mix of pristine beaches, majestic mountains, distinct culture and inimitable music that sets it apart from its closest neighbours.”

Both properties are all-inclusive. Jewel Paradise Cove Beach Resort & Spa Runaway Bay is an adults-only, oceanfront resort on Jamaica’s north coast. It features 210 rooms and 15 junior suites as well as event space that can accommodate groups ranging in size from 25 to 150 people. Jewel Dunn’s river Beach Resort & Spa Ocho Rios is comprised of three buildings featuring garden, mountain and ocean-front rooms as well as suites. It’s event/meeting space can accommodate groups ranging from 25 to 200 people.

Vaughan announced the signings at a press conference held March 31st at the Montego Bay Convention Center. She was joined by the Honourable Dr. Kenneth Wykeham McNeill, minister of tourism and entertainment for Jamaica; Paul Pennicook, director of tourism, Jamaica Tourist Board; and representatives from the hotel ownership and management companies, Sagicor and Aimbridge Hospitality.
