Marriott International’s luxury hotel brand, JW Marriott announced its plans to open 10 properties this year in five countries.
The scheduled openings in China, Colombia, India, Turkey and the U.S. will bring the brand’s total count to 54 hotels and resorts and 24,000 rooms and represents a $2 billion investment.
“The major growth expands the JW Marriott experience to some of the world’s premier cities and destinations,” said Don Semmler, executive vice-president, full service brand management and operations, Marriott International.
The 10 JW Marriott hotels and resorts opening in 2010 include:
- China – Hangzhou
- Colombia – Bogota
- India – Bengeluru, Chandigarh, Chennai
- Turkey – Ankara
- The United States – San Antonio, Los Angeles, Miami, Chicago
An additional 20 JW Marriott hotels are also in development in 13 countries, including such locations as The Maldives, Kazakhstan, Vietnam, Puerto Rico and Indianapolis.
