Coinciding with the resort’s recent change of direction from a member of a national corporate chain to an independent, Lake Tahoe Resort Hotel, located on the California/Nevada border, has launched a $5 million renovation.
The resort’s 400 suites are being outfitted with flat screen TVs in the living areas and bedrooms, and new furnishings, mattresses, linens and carpets are other enhancements. Bathrooms are also being reconfigured and upgraded with new granite countertops.
In November, the hotel’s four premium balcony suites will reopen with dual-sided fireplaces, and this alpine theme will extend to the resort’s atrium with the addition of a large dual-sided fireplace and gathering area. The entire project will be completed in December.
Located in the center of South Lake Tahoe’s signature outdoor and indoor attractions—mountains, beach, towering pine forests, shopping, nightlife and casino entertainment—the resort houses 10,000 square-feet of meeting space plus a restaurant and bar.
According to a news release it is the largest and only full-service hotel in South Lake Tahoe.
