Marriott Gateway on the Falls has announced a $15-million renovation project, to support an expected boom in convention business in Niagara Falls. The opening of the 288,000-sq.-ft. Scotiabank Convention Centre, located across the street from the Marriott Gateway, promises to boost tourism opportunities in the area year-round.

The 32-storey hotel will see its 407 guestrooms remodeled, along with facade improvements, a new open-concept lobby area, a new restaurant bar and improvements to the fitness and pool areas.

The hotel’s more than 40,000 sq. ft. of function space will also be updated and refreshed as part of the renovation project. Marriott Gateway on the Falls is the largest Marriott convention facility in Canada with 23 meeting rooms, including a columnless ballroom that seats up to 1,200 guests

Hotel upgrades are expected to be completed in early 2012. See more at marriottgateway.com.
