Broadway-style entertainment troupe the Water Coolers wowed the crowd at TradeDifferent.
February 20-23, 2010
TradeDifferent, a type of trade-show-meets-cocktail-reception, was a huge success. Even a one-hour rain delay did not put a damper on this action-packed outdoor event.
Everything was outstanding, from beautiful lounge areas on the beach with MGM Mirage properties to concert-quality stage performances and henna tattoos at Hard Rock, to a suspended stage over the main pool with JSAV’s interactive Rock Band installation.
As part of the show, attendees were encouraged to form their own band and play on stage.
Proudly representing the Toronto Chapter were Bob Giorgini (London Convention Centre and current MPI Toronto Chapter president) on vocals; Dina Ayas (Renaissance Toronto Hotel Downtown) on lead guitar; Tammy Carey (Frishkorn Audio Visuals) on drums and yours truly on bass guitar.
Wow – can Bob ever sing!
The conference’s closing lunch entertainment was a real treat. The Water Coolers, a New York-based, Broadway-style comedy troupe, sang, danced and impressed the entire audience.
Sponsored by Las Vegas Meetings by Harrah’s Entertainment, the Water Coolers created original, custom song-and-dance numbers for their sponsor and closed with a song dedicated to being a meeting planner.
This five-person entertainment powerhouse received a well-deserved standing ovation.
