Meetings + Incentive Travel Partners with International Meetings Review


Meetings + Incentive Travel (M+IT), the leading publication serving the Canadian meetings and business events sector, has secured its position as the voice of Canada on the global news network, International Meetings Review (IMR).

IMR is a web portal that has been co-created by 12 international publishers from within the sector, each providing insight into their domestic or regional territories’ meetings offer, and each providing distribution of a global weekly news digest to their established audiences from within their territories. There is only one represented publisher per territory who participates with the IMR, establishing M+IT as the new voice for the Canadian marketplace.

The portal is further supported by global meetings industry events and associations which provide regular additional outreach into key communities above those of the publisher network. M+IT is in good company alongside such event and association partners as IMEX, EIBTM, ICCA, Site, PCMA, and IAPCO.

Founder and executive producer of IMR, James Latham, explains the significance of bringing a Canadian voice to the table: “Canada has well developed infrastructure and professional services. It has made great efforts to reach beyond the low hanging fruits of the US outbound markets, particularly in light of current exchange rates and near-dollar parity. With M+IT at the table, we can now extend Canada’s reach to the international outbound sectors delivered through our partners from all over the world. Canada is blessed with a pedigree publisher and our international planners will benefit greatly from the insights that M+IT will provide.”

The network itself will benefit from a further 20,000 distribution of the global news service, provided by M+IT which brings the combined weekly distribution of the IMRN global alert to over 320,000 pre-qualified meeting professionals.

The publisher will also be adding its own industry event, IncentiveWorks, held annually in Toronto, Ontario as IMR’s official event partner for Canada’s largest event for the global meetings community.
